BE CAREFUL

Rev. Adewale & Chinenye Adesida

For the word of God is alive and active.

— Hebrews 4:12a NIV

The Word of God is greater than all words. Do not allow yourself to be affected by any word that goes against the Word of God. It does not matter who the speaker is. No one is greater than God, so no word can be greater than His. It does not matter what the evidence is. If it goes against God's written Word, it is a lie. The change you need will happen if you believe and obey the Bible.

Be careful about what you believe because whatever you believe is what will rule in your life and situations. Make up your mind to receive God's Word, no matter how you feel about It. God has not called us to understand His Word. He has called us to believe It. 'Only believe' is the requirement for a divine encounter in the written Word of God. This is the time for you to thoroughly screen your life in order to find out what you truly believe.

God says it shall be well with you. Don't accept anything different from His Word. Do not permit any thought in your own heart that is against the Word of God. Cast it down immediately. Remember that the devil tries to plant his evil seeds in the lives of the children of God through thoughts. He does all he can to hide the fact that the thoughts are his. That bad imagination is not yours. It is the devil's. Cast it down. If you take charge of what goes on in your heart, you will live a victorious life. Thoughts become words, and words have power, so don't give ungodly thoughts and words a chance in your life. They often produce fear and the works of the flesh (Galatians 5:19–21).

A lady got into a dark place in her life because she was getting older and no one had asked to marry her. To make things worse, people said very discouraging things to her. The words of others made her feel so discouraged that she ceased to have good desires for herself. One day, she decided to take her own life. But as she went out of her home to get something, a woman met her and began to tell her how beautiful she looked on that day. That changed everything. The lady got a flicker of joy that saved her from doing the unthinkable. Shortly after that, she met and married her husband.

Be careful about what you say to people. Mind what you say to yourself. Check your thoughts and keep them in line with Scripture. Once you believe the ever-potent Word of God and live by It, no other word can have a negative effect on you. Believe God: life is in your words. Speak to your finances. Speak to your health. Speak to your day. Speak life to people, situations and things. God is watching over His Word to perform It. Read It. Believe It. Obey It. Speak It.

Prayer Guide

1. Give thanks to God for His written Word (the Bible) and thank Him for the gift of another day. 2. Pray for the mercy of God if you have not been intentional about keeping your thoughts in line with God's Word concerning you. 3. Pray for the grace to read, believe, obey and speak the Word of God. Ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen His people. 4. Commit missionaries and their families into the hands of the Lord. Pray that the Word of God will prevail in your country. 5. Pray for the sick and the discouraged among the children of God. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Give God praise.

If we want to know the Glory of God, if we want to experience the beauty of God, and if we want to be used by the hand of God, then we must LIVE in the WORD of God.
