YOUR AUTHORITY IN CHRIST

It is a hard truth that many believers do not know the privileged position they occupy in Christ. They are sometimes intimidated into thinking that the devil has greater authority in the spirit realm than they do. This is far from our spiritual reality. Most of what the enemy does is loud and amplified, just to scare God's children.

Did you know that as a child of God, you have the authority to bring the spiritual atmosphere of wherever you are under the government of Jesus? This is why evil should not be permitted where a believer is present. When you are in right standing and you pray in the name of Jesus, some things shift in the atmosphere even without your knowledge. The Word of Jesus in your mouth is as if He Himself were speaking it, and anti-God forces must listen and bow. At that point, it is no longer 'business as usual' for them: powers take cover because Jesus, the Master, is in charge. This is why people in the occult do not want Spirit-filled Christians to pray freely around them. They see it as a threat to their continued existence.

A certain man, who was at the forefront of promoting Satanism, gained popularity for many years because of his demonstrations of witchcraft. He did many things to attack Christians and spoke ill of the church. One day, it all ended when he went on one of his astral travels, leaving his body with a promise that his spirit would return as it always had. Unfortunately for him, because a Christian man was praying around that area at that time, his spirit could not go back into his lifeless body. Something had shifted in that atmosphere.

As a Christian, Jesus has called you to change the narrative of your environment through righteous living and effective prayers. A believer should blame himself/herself when evil rules supreme around his/her location. You are the one given the responsibility to clear the spiritual debris in your family and in society at large. Jesus has given you the authority. Use it properly. Engage it effectively. Get men and women liberated from the oppression of Satan.

Our opening verse for today implies that it is your 'yes' on earth that will determine the 'yes' in heaven. Heaven is waiting on you: when you move, heaven moves; otherwise, the situation in your family, at work and in society will remain unchanged. Make use of your authority in Christ to deliver men and women by deciding what is permitted around you. Shalom!
